A quick and easy sorbet recipe that has no added sugar, dairy-free, and doesn’t require an ice cream maker to make. Just take some frozen fruit and blend it up.
Happy August, friends!
Raise your hand if your tired of cooking and the heat of the kitchen is just too much these days. I know I can hardly stand being cooped up in our little galley kitchen, first the cooking and don’t even get me started on the cleaning…
I present to you a recipe that is hardly a recipe- Easy Frozen Fruit Sorbet. All you need is your frozen fruit of choice and a blender or food processor! Even though this is honestly the simplest thing on the planet, I had to share. This sorbet method is a constant go-to of mine, people are always surprised to find out that it’s just fruit.
HOW TO MAKE SORBET WITHOUT SUGAR
This isn’t the traditional way of making sorbet, but the trade-off is a light, refreshing sorbet that doesn’t have any added sugar and requires minimal equipment to make. To make sorbet without added sugar, all you need is the frozen fruit and a blender or food processor. Add your frozen fruit to your blender and blend up until it is a nice creamy consistency. Serve and enjoy, that’s it!
SORBET FLAVORS
Some of my favorite flavors are mango, strawberry, and a cherry, berry blend. The fruit is usually sweet enough that there isn’t any need for added sugar. Feel free to experiment with different flavors if that’s your thing. You can add flavor enhancers to the fruit base, such as lemon, lime, or herbs. It’s really up to you!
If you want to experiment with fruit flavors, a great way to do so is to freeze your fresh fruit. That way you can make sorbet out of less common fruit that isn’t necessarily in the frozen fruit aisle at the grocery store.
