Quick and Easy Guacamole

This Quick and Easy Guacamole is my go-to method for making a silky smooth and creamy guacamole every time. Ditch the store-bought packets and make your own. It is guaranteed to be fresher, brighter, and tastier.

There are thousands of guacamole recipes out there, and mine isn’t traditional, but it is simple and turns out great every time!

What are the ingredients in guacamole

The main ingredients in guacamole are avocados, limes, and other fresh ingredients. Scroll down to see which ingredients I chose and why!

Hass Avocados are the main ingredient here! Look for avocados that are darker brown-green in color to know that your avocados are ripe.

Salsa Verde is the curveball. It isn't a traditional ingredient in guacamole, but trust me. Salsa verde will make your guacamole light and fluffy, and helps it keep that vibrant green color.

Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice is a must. If you read my classic margarita post, you know how I feel about those squeeze bottles that contain “lime juice”.

Garlic adds a little spice to this easy guacamole. Use 1-3 cloves depending on how garlicky you like things and how big the cloves are.

Fresh Cilantro adds a depth and complexity, giving you that recognizable flavor in a fresh guacamole.

Spices (red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper) For spices I usually add them to taste. Add more or less red pepper flakes depending on how spicy you like it. The same goes for salt. If it tastes a little bland, add more salt to bring out the flavors!

What do you need to make guacamole

The only kitchen supplies you need to make homemade guacamole are a knife, a cutting board, spoons, and something to mash the ingredients with. Use what you have! I like to mash it up with a muddler, but you can use forks, a whisk, a blender, a food processor, an immersion blender, or a pestle. Mash to your desired consistency.

How to make quick and easy guacamole

Simply add all of your ingredients to a bowl and mash everything together. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. It’s really that easy!

How do you cut an avocado for guacamole

To cut avocado for guacamole, simply slice the avocado in half and take out the pit. Cut rows in a perpendicular direction to make squares and scoop the avocado pulp out with a spoon.

How to store guacamole in the fridge

To keep guacamole fresh for days without turning brown, the key is to keep it from being exposed to oxygen. I do this by pouring an extra layer of salsa verde over the top of the leftover guacamole and storing it in an airtight jar. You will have green guacamole for 3-6 days!

This guacamole is the perfect appetizer to bring to gatherings or to enjoy as a snack. Want to take things to the next level? Enjoy it with Garden Fresh Salsa and a Classic Margarita to create the perfect combination for a fun time!
